HewTech Electronics LLC has developed a low-cost Quantity Gauge for Fuel-Level measurement  for vehicles / systems using LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG) as a Cryogenic Fuel.

The Model SSU-33/240  is a signal conversion, level sending unit.  The device interprets the measurement signal received from the probe, converts the liquid-level measurement to a compatible signal which can be displayed using a common 33~240 ohm automotive-type FUEL gauge (optional).   

The control utilizes analog & digital technology to precisely monitor the tank probe condition.  The ZERO adjustment determines the EMPTY (0%) point of the probe.   The design provides for various probe selection, by positioning a probe-select jumper.  The probe-select jumper compensates for the different probe characteristic capacitance.  ZERO & SPAN have been pre-calibrated to correspond to specific (capacitive characteristics) probes.

The design takes into consideration intrinsic-safety practices by supplying 5 volts DC circuit power.  Low total circuit capacitance (less than 1-microfarad), negligible inductance (no inductors used) and total DC signal isolation to the probe.  Supply power is from 12 Volt vehicle battery
