DEC 30, 2004: 2004~2005 Michigan Vintage Oval Racing:
Here
in Michigan, Vintage oval racing is just starting to become organized, and
there isn't many classes available. Since my Liquid Twisters are
considered "OPEN Class", they would be mixing it up with IFS /
Twin-trackers & Sno-Pro sleds. Although the Liquid Twisters are fast,
the leaf-spring sleds just can't cut the corners. So, until a class exists
to run the L/C Merc's against the SRX's & Arctic-Cat Z's of the day, the L/C
MERC will stay moth-balled...too bad! Rather than
miss the fun, I've decided to campaign the Fan-cooled Trail Twister in the 0~440
Stock Class. Again, with class limitations, I will possibly be running
against the F/A sleds such as Thunder-Jets, GPX, F/A-Twisters and RV's, but, I
think the torque of this 440 will do just fine. Watch for us at Lucky-Thumb
and Albright Shores this season.
Mention to the track promoters that you would really like to see a Leaf-Spring
Liquid Class!!! Visit
Teshio's Events Page for all the Vintage racing events!

CDI
NOW AVAILABLE!
We are ready to go on the 3-cyl Polaris FIREPLUG

models (not internal rotors). This is the most common CDI requested.
This CDI will work on these triples; TX500's, Centurions, INDY600 & 650 to
1990 & all BRUT EC44-3 cylinder CDI models.

May 15, 2004: 77~80 YAMAHA SRX
FIREPLUG CDI:
We
received positive feedback this weekend from Leon Koch of Koch
Performance from their grass-drag testing of our FIREPLUG CDI! The
owner/driver of the 77 SRX, JASON REMIEKER, noticed a significant stronger
mid-range pull with the 77-SRX through the 350 foot run, compared to the stock
77-SRX CDI. Thanks to both for their help. Special thanks to Derek
Upton for additional 78~80 testing. (pictured is Grey Rolland's 76/77 SRX).
April 2004: POLARIS 3-CYL FIREPLUG CDI UPDATE:

We have preliminary "Good News"
to report with the progress with the 3-Cyl FIREPLUG CDI. The prototype CDI
passed the initial "garage" testing on the 73-650 Polaris. The
plans are to now get dyno results, which we should have in the next few weeks.
Thanks again to Ross Maser, who is lending us his 3-cyl BRUT for CDI
development, and also to Kurt Andrews for the continued support with testing and
general wear & tear on his 650 Starfire! We will update as results
come in. (photo of Kurt Andrews / 650 Starfire).
April 2004: 77 YAMAHA SRX FIREPLUG CDI:
We are back working diligently on the FIREPLUG CDI for the 77 SRX. We have
obtained a modified 77SRX for testing, but found the stator was bad. We
have borrowed a working 77 stator from Koch Performance, and now have the sled
running. We hope to have a design finalized soon. (Thanks also to
Roger Sibilsky for the 78~81 SRX components for testing.
March
2004: Mark
Nernberg sent in this pic from the Canadian Power Toboggan 2004 Championships.
Mark arrived late on Saturday, missing his qualifiers for both 340 classes, so
repeating as Champ was out. Mark entered his FIREPLUG equipped 340 Jet in
the 440 Class & made the final. The pic shows just the nose of Mark's
T-Jet on the right side. Mark gave up some HP to the 3-cyl 440 Starfires,
but when all the snow dust fell, Mark had pushed the 340 T-Jet to a 4th place
finish in the 440 Final...Pretty Impressive! I'm looking into getting Mark a
FIREPLUG for the truck, so he can make up some time getting to the races!
Great effort Mark!
Feb 2004: Until
further notice, we are discontinuing the production of the Harley-Davidson
replacement FIREPLUG CDI. We recently had an issue with some of the early
models (72 MODEL YEAR) where timing difference is not allowing the CDI to
operate correctly. All model year Harleys used the same internal
trigger/stator components (or so was believed), therefore compatibility
should not be an issue. However, with the recent findings, we cannot
continue to offer a CDI that may not be 100% compatible. We will continue
to research the findings. We may reinstate the availability of the Harley
CDI in the future. Access to a good running sled this summer will be the
determining factor. Please CONTACT us
if you have good running Harley sled & can get it near the Detroit, MI area.

Jan 2004:
Mark Nernberg is getting ready to defend his 2003
Canadian Power Toboggan 340 Early model World Championship (see below).
Mark has a few tricks under the hood this year, which he hopes will keep him out
front. Mark sent this pic of his race-ready ride for this season.
Hey, that's a pretty catchy slogan....Thanks Mark and good luck with the repeat!
Mark tells me he may be at Eagle River in 2005!
