DESIGN HISTORY:  We had a SUZUKI SM40 (XR440) engine dropped off at HewTech home base.  The Suzuki engine was used on a midget Sprint car, raced near London, Ontario Canada. This gentleman recently purchased three of the aftermarket 01-306 CDI's over the past 4 months.  ALL FAILED within 3-laps!  The ignition system was analyzed, and a FIREPLUG CDI was designed & installed.  With the new CDI in place, he was able to post a 4th place finish that weekend!
